Even if we've already stayed here in our new house for 2 weeks, but I admit it's not fully child proof yet. Firstly, our stair gate has one component missing and therefore is not an effective block to the stairs anymore. Our stair railing gaps are also too wide that even if there''ll be a gate, the kids can still enter the stair through the gaps. LOL! Secondly, we have to hang our extension cords' plug points so it'll be out of reach from the kids. Then, we need to put a screen door or a door to the kitchen area as to prevent the kids from going inside. Anyways, all these don't need major renovations or to the point of needing emi shielding. These are just small things but necessary to keep our kids safe.
