Having a health insurance in our home country has lots of advantages. When I delivered my two kids for example, I was able to get refunds for my caesarean section delivery. With Lyle’s recent operation, we could also get a refund since he is one of my dependents. Being a minor, though, he cannot claim a social security disability .
This health insurance that we pay in our country is unbelievably cheap especially for us who are out of the country. I know of some people who are neither prompt nor mindful about paying on time, and they only think about it when they are admitted in hospitals abroad. What they get in return should have been more than enough what they pay yearly.
So I always remind my family to include me when they pay their health insurance. At least we have a refund that should be coming our way again soon!
