No, I'm not talking about anniversaries or birthdays. I'm talking about the time we've procrastinated in putting linoleum on our floor. You see, last November, our house owner raised up our flooring by 12 inches. This was to prevent the water from reaching our house since our city is flood prone. Those were the months in which there were constant rains and flooding. The work actually started on the last week of October and was stopped when the 'great' 2010 flood came. Yeah, how ironic was that? But even if, we got to raise up our flooring by 12 inches, water could have still gotten into our house since the flood water was about 1 meter inside our house.
Anyways, after a few weeks after the flood, the flooring work was finally over. But this time, our house owner did not use marble or ceramic tiles for our floor anymore but just a plain green colored cement. The color and cement was uneven and very rough in texture. It even took about 2 months before the cement 'dried' up. Up until now the kitchen floor still becomes moist and wet without us putting any water on it.
So, in short, I don't like our new floor. It doesn't look neat even if we've already tried to 'hide' it with Rugs like Area Rugs or Cheap Rugs. I always wanted to put linoleum on it but somehow we feel that we should call our house owner and ask him to put tiles. But then, by the time we want to ask him, we retract since it might sound so demanding. Then, we sometimes think of looking for a new house and moving out so, buying new linoleum might be a waste. And then, we totally forget about our flooring and repeat the cycle from wanting to buy a linoleum and so on and so fort. And guess what , it has already been 4 months and we haven't done anything with our flooring yet. LOL! Time flies so fast huh!
