Lyle's Day Outs & Tricia's Homeschool

Praise God for friends! A friend of ours agreed to take care of Lyle 3 afternoons a week. This way, I can concentrate and catch up with Tricia's homeschool.

So, last Friday was our 'trial day' to send Lyle to our friends house. We let Tricia accompany him first so, he would feel much secure to be in a new place with his sister. They immediately felt at home in our friends' house and liked it there specially after seeing that they have this cute little puppy. So, we left both of them there without any problems. When it was time to fetch them, they were both very excited and said that they enjoyed their time there. What was amusing is that Tricia also asked if she can also go there with Lyle every week. I had to explain to her that the very reason we're sending Lyle is because of her homeschool. But she was okay after the mention of 'homeschool' because she misses homeschool already. We haven't had homeschool for a long time now.

And today, was Lyle's second day to go to our friends' house. This time, we sent him alone. I was a bit scared at first on what his reaction will be after seeing me and Tricia leave him there. I already conditioned him days ahead that his sister won't be staying with him anymore in our friends' house. He was okay when I told him that but when we were saying good bye, his eyebrows crossed and asked, " Why is Ate Tricia not staying with me?". Then, I had to remind him that he already said 'okay' to be alone in his Kuya's house. He didn't cry but I could see he was thinking. I just then changed the topic and told him to see the puppy upstairs. He was already then excited and didn't even look back. Whew!

So, off we went back to the house and had a productive 4 hours homeschooling with my daughter. I would have to say that leaving Lyle there is a success since he likes it there and our friends' are also taking good care of him. Thank God that this is finally the solution for our long standing dilemma of Tricia's homeschool. Praise God!
