Last year, I made the curriculum and coursebook for the Summer English program for the children. I was working on different computers so, I email my work to 'myself' whenever I finish updating it until I completed the whole book. At that time, I also thought it was a good idea to email the file since they can easily be recovered online as compared to lost USBs or defective hard drive or laptop memory .
And true enough, I'm glad that saved that finished work in my email. As many of you may have known, our Center got flooded last year. Most of our things in the office including the computers and books in the library have been damaged. And yes, that included the books for the English Summer program. If I didn't have the soft copy of that book in my email, I could have been so sad because I had put so much of time and effort in organizing and writing that coursebook. It would also mean additional time and effort on my part to come up with another coursebook for this year. But thank God for email. Whew!
