Flood Season?

Aside from the flood in the Northeast and Central regions of Thailand, I've just seen in the news that a province in Vietnam is also experiencing terrible flood. As reported, the flood in Vietnam has already claimed 41 lives. Most of these places have experienced these floods for the first time after many years. The city that we are living right now has also experienced a great flood 10 years ago and so with our hometown in the Philippines. Our house actually got flooded early last year and I would say, that experience has somehow made me 'phobia' of floods. That's one of the reason why we also wanted to move out of our present house because of the water that comes in the kitchen after heavy rain.

I wonder which place is flood free? Are the Outer Banks vacation rentals flood free too? If it is, wouldn't it be nice to go and stay there instead where its free of flood? But then again, we are called to be here in this place. So, we have to stay put in this city unless it's clearly time for us to go and move out to a different place.
