Car Repair

Our car wasn't in a very good condition about 2 weeks ago. It made some kind of sound when we put the 2nd and 3rd gear on. And since our car is already quite old, we immediately had it checked in the auto repair shop. There our car stayed for 2 days where the mechanic dismantled the gear box and also check engine light and all the other parts. It seems the gear and other things are broken and the mechanic suggested to buy a new gear box. Getting a new set would actually costs about 10,000 Baht. But since Hubby asked the mechanic if he could just fix and make do of our present box, he said he would give it a try.

And so he did. And we ended up saving 5,000 baht as we only have to pay him 5,000 for the auto parts he bought plus his service charge. And ouch! That was painful.. a big chunk of unexpected expense just came out like that. But still we are thankful that we didn't have to pay more than 10,000 Baht. I'm sure the 5,00 baht would be cheap compared to any Chicago auto repair.

Now, I wish we have a new car, a Toyota Camry perhaps.. a new car won't give much problems and we'd save repair costs for at least 5 years.. but buying one right now not possible at all.
