I Know You Love Me

My li'l girl has this dream toy that she has always been talking about ever since she watched the newest Barbie movie. It's the Barbie in the Mermaid Tale. She went to the Barbie website and showed me it to me, its features and etc. I told her that it's quite expensive because it's in dollars and I'm not sure if we can see that same Barbie here in Thailand. She told me that she's praying for that doll.

Then, we had our girl's day out the other weekend and she was so excited to see the same Barbie at one of the department store. And the price? It was still expensive for me. So, I kept telling her that it's quite expensive. And she told me that she's praying that she'll have that for her birthday. I didn't promise her anything since I really find the doll beyond our budget. But I didn't stop her from praying either.

And just yesterday, after wrapping up the gifts for her cousins, she told me with a serious face, " Amma, it's okay if you don't give me the Barbie and the Mermaid Tale for my birthday because I know that you love me and that's already enough." I can't help but be touched and I know that she's serious. But she just doesn't know a mother's heart.. we always want to fulfill our children's desire .. if only if we could... but I'm glad to know that she's secure in our love and our love can't be measured by giving her Barbies, toys and other things.
