Pain Killers and Medicine

I was recently talking to a friend about my 2 different experiences on C-section operation. During my first operation in the Philippines, I was already up and about the next morning. I even remember walking to the nursery room to nurse my baby and got discharged on the 3rd day. But surprisingly, on my second operation here in Thailand, I was still in pain and had difficulty walking on the third day after the operation. I only got discharged from the hospital after 5 days.

What's the difference? I could only conclude that I was given higher doses of pain killer after my first operation. On my second operation, I was only given a paracetamol after experiencing terrible pain after the anesthesia has subsided. I guess, Thailand is stricter when it comes to the use of these types of drugs. I think that's also good though that they control it, but when you're the patient and experiencing terrible pain, it's really ... painful!!

But I guess, that's better than taking some prescribed medicine and experiencing long-term side effects from it. Just now, I read about the zoloft lawsuit and was sad to know that a lot of people are affected by the zoloft drug.
