The American Dream

I'm very happy to know about some of my friends and relatives who have been residing in the US have already been granted the American citizenship. They've been in the US for many years now and only God knows the amount of sacrifice and hardship they've been through. I'm sure it's not so easy to gain citizenship too. But then, they've finally been granted the citizenship and I'm sure they are more at peace now living in the country. They can now proudly wave American flags ( hopefully beside the Philippine flags) and feel that they are indeed a part of the country. They have finally attained their American dream. Whew! Praise God!

As for me I don't have an American dream, ever since I was small, I never dreamed of living and working in the US. I've known that I'll be working in a different country a few months after graduating from the University but the US has never been in the list. But is has been in my dreams to travel to a lot of countries. It'll be nice to collect world flags and state flags as a souvenir from the countries and states that I've visited.

What about you? What is your dream? Is it the "American" dream?
