The Widows Mite

Do you remember the story in the Bible where a poor widow put 2 small coins in the temple treasury and Jesus said,

"I tell you the truth," [Jesus] said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on." (Luke 21:1-4) ?

Well, those small coins were called mites. And guess what, I just received a mite made as a pendant as a gift from my daughter's homeschool curriculum.

It has been said that in Israel, it permits the sale of ancient coins recovered from archaeological sites. It has also been said that there are so many sites in the country where you can dig almost anywhere and you will find antiquities. That's really cool! I wonder whether there would be gold coins and silver coins hidden underneath the country too. I'm sure these artifacts and coins will be of great value now. As they said, gold's value appreciates as time goes by.
