Mother's Day in Thailand

This coming Thursday, August 12, 2010 is the celebration of Mother's Day in Thailand. They celebrate this event on this day because it's also the HM Queen Sirikit of Thailand's 78th birthday. She is considered as the mother of Thailand, thus the event is also marked as their Mother's Day.

On this special day, children will be honoring the Queen as well as their mothers. Many of the establishments are also giving away special tokens, discounts or treats for mothers as well. I've just learned that S&P is giving away a treat for Mom's on the 10th-12th of August where moms can eat for free for every order from a child. Sweet!

Anyways, we don't have any plans for Mother's day yet but hopefully we can do something relaxing and refreshing. :)
