Her 100 Baht

A friend gave Tricia 100 Baht and told her that she can buy anything she wants with that money. So, when we went to Tesco, I asked her what she wanted to do with her 100 Baht. She said, she want so buy a toy. But then it turned out that all the other toys that she wanted was 199 Baht. I also didn't want to add in another 99 Baht since I want her to learn to buy things within the alotted budget. After a few choices, we finally saw a cute mechanical kitten that walks and meows at 100 baht. She immediately fell in love with the kitten.

And since it was our day out and her little brother was left behind in the house with Hubby, we also bought a small surprise for him- an inflatable airplane toy. And on our way back, Tricia wanted to hold his brother's toy so, she will be the one to give it to him when we get back home. But then, the motorcycle we rode went so fast that she was able to let go of the toy. We couldn't stop the motorbike too since we were in the middle of the road with a lot of cars behind us.

She was speechless when that happened. And I also explained to her that Lyle will feel sad if we don't have any surprises for him since we promised him a surprise before we left. I just then tried to ask her, whether it's okay for her to give her Kitten to Lyle as a surprise. I would understand if she says 'no' so I didn't try to persuade her much as if I just finished a course in sales career. I just wanted to try and ask if she's willing to give up her toy bought with her own money for her brother. And I was amazed when she said it's okay for her to 'let Lyle have her cat'. I was blessed by her generosity since I know that most kids won't do that and would insist on their right to have their own toy and not give it away. I just pray that our girl will carry on with this attitude of being generous and thoughtful until she grows older.
