Royal Ploughing Ceremony

Tomorrow, 13th of May is a school holiday here in Thailand because it's the Royal Ploughing Ceremony. This is a rite that marks the traditional beginning of the rice-growing season. This ceremony is usually presided by a monarch or an appointee.

We just actually got to know of the holiday this morning. We just saw the 'no classes' sign outside our daughter's school. If only we would have known of this holiday earlier, then we could have made plans for family to take advantage of this one day holiday. But anyways, our li'l girl is going to the beach with the kids from the outreach tomorrow. I'm sure she'll have fun! If only there are rv motorhomes here, it would be great for these kids ( and us) to experience that too. As for me and my li'l boy, we'll be staying at home while my Hubby goes out for work.
