I'm excited! A few hours from now, we will be giving away gifts to the children and youths in our neighborhood. The gifts are not really from us but from the children from all over the US. It's a project called Operation Christmas Child from the Samaritan's Purse where each child in the US gives a boxful of goodies and stuffs to another child in a different country. The other week, I looked through some of the (plastic) boxes and there were some boxes in which the children wrote letters. It's such a touching gesture for these kids from US and the amount of joy that they're giving to those not so privileged children is just immeasurable.
I remember a few years ago, when I helped facilitate the same event and there were 2 siblings in our group. When we asked them to take turns in opening their boxes, the older brother got an inflated basketball. He was so happy with ball and I heard the younger brother said, he also wish he gets a ball. It's quite impossible for two gifts to be alike since the gifts are given by different kids from all over the US. But, indeed God saw that desire and guess what he got when he opened his box? Yes, an inflated basketball too! He was indeed so ecstatic when we saw that he got the same thing like his brother. :)
I wonder what other surprised the kids will get tomorrow. Can't wait to find out.
