Today is a holiday ( school holiday) in the Philippines. So, Tricia is a happy girl as all her cousins are present and they're all playing outside.
Yesterday, I was wondering why February 23s suddenly became a school holiday and I was only reminded when my cousin told me that February 25 is supposed to be Edsa Day ( and therefore a holiday) but our President moved the holiday on the 23rd because it falls on a Monday. It seems that almost every holiday has already been moved on a Monday or Friday. The reason for this, they said, is so that people can have longer weekends and therefore boost local tourism. Hmmm... That's practical but then, I wonder if it's also helpful for the people especially for the children when for sure the essence of these holidays will not be that meaningful anymore. There was even a joke being passed around that , if January 1st falls on a Wednesday then maybe our President will have to change the New Year's day to December 30 so that it'll fall on a Monday. hehehe!
