The New Thai Prime Minister

I am so behind with the news in this country. I was shocked this evening when my Hubby told me that Thailand has a new Thai Prime Minister , Somchai Wongsawat. We've been away from Thailand for more than a week that's why I'm not aware of the development of the political situation. Anyways, he was elected last Wednesday by the House of Representative with 298 votes. Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat has a long time experience in the judicial field, served as a deputy prime minister and education minister, and appointed as acting premier to head the caretaker government after Samak was disqualified.

What is very interesting to note is that Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawt is married to Yaowapa who is the younger sister to the ousted former Prime Minister Thaksin. Hmmm... I will have to read more of the news and see what the Thai people thinks about this.
